"Darlene and I had been looking for a new home for a few years.  Everything we looked at did not meet our criteria until we found a new Phelps Homes Development in Smithville.  We were happy to see the new survey was an Adult Community as we are both retired. The homes in this survey are designed with a country style which fits the area perfectly.  We were also looking for open concept, which these homes are, but we wanted a larger kitchen area.  After speaking with the Sales Representative, we found we were able to redesign the interior layout at no extra charge.  We finally were able to get the home design we were looking for.During construction, we toured the house at different stages to make sure the changes to the plans and our upgrades were followed.  If we had an issue or question about the house during the construction process it was immediately answered and if necessary resolved. We were able to choose an exterior colour pallet we liked as well as carpet, tile, lighting, window sizes (this was an upgrade) and the location of all electrical, TV cable and telephone outlets.  We talked directly to the Cabinet Supplier who helped us design the kitchen and bathroom cabinets along with all the hardware.  This may seem like a lot of work but it made the home our home and not the builders.We have been in our home 2 years now and if we have a question or concern Phelps Homes gives it the same attention that we received during the construction period.  All the items that were listed on our Tarion Warranty have been completed.  We are very pleased with the detail and workmanship that went into the construction of our home."

 "We've been in our home for just over a year and we cannot stress enough how much we have enjoyed every minute. We are both retired and have decorated our home casually to suit our lifestyle. The spacious floor plan is perfect for accommodating large family gatherings and also allows easy access to all rooms. In the centre of the kitchen lies a very functional island, with several pull-outs and cabinets that provide additional storage. It is also the place for our daily meals and where friends and family gravitate. We are enjoying all the many interior details added to our home such as the hardwood floors, ceramic tile, walk-in large tiled shower (we are planning to remain here for many, many years), crown moulding and also the columns used in the dining area. Not only do these features add to the home's overall appeal, but they also showcase the exceptional craftsmanship of the workers. The homes exterior, brick and siding, with large front porch and columns is as attractive as the interior. At first, I was sceptical about downsizing, but I am definitely happy with the end result. Our home is bright and very easy to clean. Both my husband and I absolutely love it! We always invite interested buyers into our home; we are very proud of it and love to show it off. We had a couple of items that required Phelps' attention. Phelps Homes fit into our schedule and were very professional, from the tradesmen to the girls at the office. The friendly appointments and checking afterward to assure the changes made were done to our satisfaction were always welcome. We have had an almost family-like rapport with Phelps Homes since we moved here over a year ago. We would not hesitate for a second to recommend Phelps Homes to anyone. Our casual home is beautiful, the Phelps people are easy to deal with, and the neighbourhood surpasses any of our previous ones."
